Katrina’s Skirt Creates Furore

  • IndiaGlitz, [Wednesday,October 04 2006]

Katrina Kaif was once-upon-a-time a bad girl when she did all those cleavage-show in Kaizad Gustad’s ‘Boom’. Thereafter she got linked up with bad boy Salman Khan and had no option other than turning a Good Samaritan. But she created a furore yesterday when while shooting for Vipul Shah’s Namaste London, she entered the Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s Dargah in Ajmer wearing a skirt. And thus she earned the wrath of the clergy as all women have to be covered from head till toe when entering the pristine place of worship.

A Dargah Committee member told a national daily that they didn’t have an objection as Katrina’s knees were covered but it was the television channels that created a controversy out of nothing. But I myself heard a senior Dargah official threatening to take legal action against Vipul Shah for shooting at the premises without prior permission. In ‘Namaste London’ Katrina plays an Indian girl living in UK all her life away from her roots visiting Ajmer Dargah in an attempt to get acquainted with her culture.

It seems this controversy is not going to die down so soon. IndiaGlitz will keep you updated about the latest happening on this issue.
